Ningbo Zhaoxu Plastic Products Co., Ltd. specializes in the development and customization of large plastic molds. We support mold fabrication from drawings, reverse engineering & scanning from physical samples, as well as modification and repair of existing molds. Integrating mold design, mold manufacturing, injection molding and finished product assembly, we serve customers in automotive parts, industrial equipment, garden tools, large home appliances and logistics turnover industries. We deliver a full one-stop solution of mold development plus mass injection molding for disc-type, housing-type, deep-cavity and large-size plastic parts.
Large plastic molds are mostly used for large-sized round, special-shaped and deep-cavity plastic components. Such molds impose high requirements on parting surfaces, cooling channels, venting, ejection balance and clamping force matching, which directly affect part warpage, sink marks, concentricity and production stability. We select proper mold steel and cavity structure according to product dimensions, annual output and appearance precision to balance mold service life and production cost.
Our factory is located in Fanci Mold City, Longshan, Cixi, Ningbo, covering an area of 2,000 ㎡ with independent mold workshop and injection molding workshop. The mold workshop is equipped with a full set of processing equipment including CNC machining centers, gantry milling machines, high-speed engraving and milling machines, EDM machines and grinders. We can independently complete processing, assembly and mold trials for small, medium and large molds.
Product Processing Advantages
1. Integrated mold & injection molding service. DFM evaluation, mold structural design, processing & assembly, mold trial & revision and mass injection molding are all completed in-house. It reduces multi-party coordination and facilitates lead time and quality control.
2. Capable of large mold processing. We undertake plastic molds for disc parts, deep-cavity components and large housings with corresponding processing equipment. Heavy reliance on external outsourcing is avoided for convenient project tracking.
3. Pre-project DFM structural risk assessment. Before mold making, drawings or samples are analyzed to predict defects including product warpage, shrinkage, ejection tilt and concentricity deviation. Structural optimization suggestions are provided in advance to cut later mold revision costs.
4. Customized mold solutions. Suitable mold steel is selected based on annual output, dimensional accuracy and appearance requirements. Single-cavity and multi-cavity designs are available with cold runner and hot runner options.
5. Focused design of cooling channels, venting and ejection systems for large molds. Balanced gating and uniform cooling are realized for disc and annular parts to reduce part warpage and guarantee plastic part concentricity.
6. After mold acceptance, mass injection production can be carried out in our factory, or the complete mold set can be delivered to customers. Subsequent mold modification, repair and maintenance services are available.

Mold Steel Selection Guide
- P20: Cost-effective, suitable for molds of medium-volume plastic parts with standard appearance requirements.
- 718H: Pre-hardened steel with excellent polishing performance, ideal for high-volume products demanding good surface finish.
- S136: Corrosion-resistant with superior polishing property, for cosmetic parts and molding of corrosive raw materials.
- H13: High hardness and long service life, suitable for high-volume production and hot runner molds.
Steel grade and runner scheme are selected comprehensively based on product output, structure and cost, with professional recommendations from our engineers.
Processing Workflow
Customer submits 3D drawings or physical samples → DFM manufacturability analysis & evaluation → Confirmation of mold proposal and quotation → Contract signing → Mold structural design → Mold processing (CNC, EDM, polishing, mold fitting) → Mold assembly → T1 mold trial → Sample delivery for customer approval → Mold revision and tuning based on feedback → Mold acceptance → Mass injection molding or full mold delivery to customers.
Demand evaluation: Mold proposal and quotation will be provided within 1–2 working days after receiving drawings or samples.
Mold design phase covers parting, gate, cooling channel, venting and ejection structure design. Processing starts only after customer confirmation of the design.
After mold trial, plastic parts are inspected for dimension, roundness, concentricity, appearance and assembly performance. Mold revision will be performed if needed. Mold acceptance is completed once samples are approved.
Quality Control
1. Interference check in mold design phase, with emphasis on verifying cooling channels and ejection balance for large-size parts.
2. Dimensional inspection in every processing procedure to control tolerances of mold inserts and mold bases.
3. Full inspection after mold assembly before machine mold trial.
4. Dimensional, deformation and appearance inspection of trial samples after mold test; mold trial reports are issued.
5. Complete mold files are established, recording steel grade, cavity quantity and parameters for future modification and maintenance.

FAQ
Q: Can you develop molds if I only have physical samples without drawings?
A: Yes. We support reverse scanning of physical samples to generate 3D models for mold development.
Q: For disc products, I worry about warpage and poor concentricity. Can these issues be addressed at the mold design stage?
A: Yes. Mold design will optimize gating method, cooling channels and ejection structure to reduce risks of part deformation and eccentricity.
Q: Can the finished mold stay at your factory for injection production?
A: Yes. After mold acceptance, injection processing can be performed directly in our factory to provide integrated mold and injection molding service.
Q: Can old damaged molds be modified, repaired or refurbished?
A: Yes. Services including build-up welding, polishing, part replacement and structural modification are available.
Q: What is the typical lead time for large molds?
A: Lead time depends on product size and structural complexity. A clear schedule will be provided during the evaluation stage.
Q: Will samples be provided for confirmation before delivery?
A: Yes. Samples will be supplied after T1 mold trial. The mold is accepted only after customer approves the samples.
